New fungus-resistant grape variety (PIWI).

 

Organic wine:

13.5% alcohol

1.1 g/L residual sugar

6.2 g/L acidity

 

Reminiscent of Muscat and Grapefruit.

Short maceration, fermented without chilling in stainless steel tanks, 10% fermented on the skins,

aged 23 months on the fine lees.

Bottled without filtration in September 2023.

Description

Muscaris

New fungus-resistant grape variety (PIWI).
Hybridized at the Staatliches Weinbauinstitut Freiburg (DE) from the grape varieties Solaris (♀) and Gelber Muskateller (♂). Reduction of pollution to the environment (80 to 90%
less spraying).

 

Thirsch wines:

Thirsch wines are full-bodied, with a unique style and reflect our way of working with nature. Thirsch is the historical name of our farm and winery.

 

Vineyard:

5-12 year old vines grow on Opok soils. “Opok” is a solidified sedimentary rock, formed by marine and river deposits. The soil has a high clay content, can absorb warmth well
and provides optimal ripening conditions for the grapes.

 

Winemaking:

Short maceration, fermented without chilling in stainless steel tanks, 10% fermented on the skins, aged 23 months on the fine lees. Bottled without filtration in September
2023.

Taste Profile: Reminiscent of Muscat and Grapefruit.
